Rain Barrels

Rain barrels can be placed under a roof downspout to collect stormwater runoff that can be used for watering your lawn and gardens.  This reduces runoff that carries pollutants into streams and rivers.  Rain barrels:

• Conserve water in the summer months
• Help lower water bills
• Reduce water pollutants
• Help keep excess water out of the sewer system
• Are easy to install.

OPU offers a $10 per rain barrel rebate for barrels meeting the requirements listed on the application form.  

Here's how Conserve & Save® works:

1. Purchase a qualifying Rain Barrel.
2. Get a rebate application from OPU's office or download it here.
3. Fill out the application completely and return it to OPU along with your receipt and any other required materials.
4. Allow 4-6 weeks to receive your rebate.
